What to Expect When Returning to In-Person Worship

Fremont UMC

Returning:  After Labor Day

On hold for the Foreseeable Future

§  There will be one worship service at 9:00 am.

§  Fellowship Time and before/after worship Coffee Time in Wesley Hall are on hold for the foreseeable future.

§  Church dinners are on hold for the foreseeable future.

§  Fellowship Hall, Wesley Hall, the Chapel, and classrooms are off limits for the foreseeable future.

§  Sunday School for all ages and nursery care are on hold for the foreseeable future.

§  Greeting Time, Passing the Peace, and Pastor/Guest Speaker Receiving Line is on hold for the foreseeable future.

§  Congregational and choral singing will be on hold for the foreseeable future.  Solos and duets as Special Music are permitted during service using social distancing and masks.

§  Passing the Offering Plate will be on hold for the foreseeable future.  Please continue to mail checks, set up automatic bill-pay through your financial institution, or place your offering in the collection box inside the front doors as you enter/exit for worship.

§  As a request of our guest speakers to ensure safety for all, there will be no opportunity to interact in-person with our guest speakers.  You are encouraged to send him/her a greeting or letter of thanks.  Addresses will be made available through the church office.

When Arriving/Attending/Departing

§  Everyone will enter and exit the building through the Front Doors only (the handicap ramp entrance) with the door held open for all entering/exiting.  No entry/exit will be permitted through any other doors on Sunday mornings.

§  As you and/or your household enter the building, you will need to wait for the households ahead of you to be seated in the sanctuary.  Please exercise Christian patience, kindness and love.

§  Everyone is expected to wear a mask; extras will be available at the front door entrance/exit.

§  Everyone is expected to have their temperature checked before entering the building on Sunday mornings.

§  Everyone is expected to use Hand Sanitizer upon entering the building.  It will be provided.

§  Those who are feeling ill/sick are strongly encouraged to stay home.

§  Physical Distancing is expected -- one household is expected to sit/walk/stand 6 feet from another household.  Everyone in the same household may sit together for worship.

§  There will be several "X" marks six feet apart from one another used as guidelines.

§  Seating in the Sanctuary will begin in the front row and will finish in the back row.   Ushers will be available to direct you/your household.

§  Every other pew will be blocked off.

§  All hymnals, bibles, papers, pencils, attendance logs, and Children's Activity Bags have been removed for the foreseeable future.

§  No bulletins will be handed out on Sunday mornings. The Order of Worship and Announcements will be available on the Video Screen. 

§  Communion will be pre-packaged and brought to where each household is sitting in the sanctuary on Communion Sundays.

§  Dismissal in the sanctuary will begin from the front row and finish in the back.  Ushers will direct you/your household.

§  All will exit through the pulpit-side door in the front of the church and go immediately to your household's vehicle.  For the safety of everyone, congregating in the parking lot is strongly discouraged.

§  As you/your household exit the building, you will need to wait for the households ahead of you to leave the building before exiting and making your way to your vehicle.

§  Be mindful that handicapped and disabled persons may take more time to enter/exit the building.  Please exercise Christian kindness, patience, and love. 

§  The circular drive in the front of the church will be open to drop-off and pick-up members of your household.

§  Restrooms on the main floor will be available on Sunday mornings. Please limit to two persons in the restroom at one time.

§  Surfaces will be sanitized after service.

§  The Worship Service will be up-loaded to Facebook and YouTube following worship each week.

 
 
 
Nursery   (Currently no nursery and no inside building access)
(infant through age 4) (offered year round)
We offer a staffed nursery for all of our worship services. Your young child will feel safe and secure playing with our caring staff and volunteers during the worship service. The nursery has a large playroom, a quiet area, and an attached children's restroom.
 
 
Ministry with Seniors  (Temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 Outbreak)
             
 
Worship at Transitional Health Care in Fremont
11:15 am every 4th Thursday of the month
On the third Saturday of every month, worship will take place at Transitional Health
Care in Fremont. All are welcome to come and attend this small devotion or worship
service with the residents of Transitional Health Care. 
 
Worship at Newaygo County Medical Care Facility
10:30 a.m. every 4th Thursday of the month
The fourth Thursday of every month, worship service held at the Newaygo County Medical Care
Facility. All are welcome to come and join this service with the residents 
of the facility.
 
Worship at Fountain View  
3 p.m. every 4th Sunday of the month         
The fourth Sunday of every month, worship service held at Fountain View.  
 All are welcome to come and join this service with the residents of the facility. 
 
Worship at Green Acres
2 p.m. every 4th Sunday of the month
The fourth Sunday of every month, worship service held at Green Acres.
