Love & Community

36 “Teacher, what is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 He replied, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your being, and with all your mind. 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39  And the second is like it: You must love your neighbor as you love yourself.
Matthew 22:36-39 CEB
Local Mission Outreach
The Ark Park
The Ark Park, located across the street from Fremont United Methodist Church, is open to the community.  There is an ADA (handicap) accessible swing, a pathway leading from the road to the play structure, a firebowl with benches, a Gaga Pit, and play structures for toddlers.  Pets are allowed, if on a leash and we ask that you please pick up after your pet.
Feeding America Mobile Food Truck
The first Monday of each month, Fremont United Methodist Church hosts the Feeding America Mobile Food Truck. This is open to everyone. If you would like to volunteer to help with the food truck, please be at the church at 4:15pm. We start passing out food at 5pm.
Two weeks prior to the Crop Walk, there is a table set up in the narthex with information, pledge envelopes for walkers and for those who do not walk but are willing to collect donations. Let’s all be recruiters for this Church World Service program and get as many pledges as we can. We thank Pat Bennett for being the representative from our church serving on this committee.
Kids Hope USA-- www.kidshopeusa.org/
“We believe in Jesus’ way”
That quote is from Kids Hope USA and is their belief.
Kids Hope mission is: Build Caring relationships – one child, one hour, one church, one school.
This program has proven children have a more cooperative spirit and are more motivated to participate. They
have less aggressive and violent behavior. The children improve in reading, math, spelling and test taking skills because a caring adult believes in them and applauds their efforts.
Kids Hope values are:
Children – because every child matters.
Relationships - because love is only possible person-to-person.
Faithfulness – because if I say I will, I will.
Prayer – because it is our language of hope.
Our church has participated in mentoring first, second and third graders at Pathfinder School and fourth and fifth graders at Daisy Brook School. Our church has been sponsoring this Kids hope program for the past eight
years. We thank Pam Semlow for chairing this program and getting mentors placed with students. She is in need of more mentors, so please consider giving one hour a week to make a child feel loved and special.
Let her know you are interested and willing to serve – 231-924-0030 (church office).

Global Mission Outreach
Fourth Sundays – Baked Goods Sunday
All baked good donations are welcome with proceeds going to UMCOR.
Each October--Supporting Zimbabwe Families
The Mission Team raises money each October, by having a meatloaf sale, the proceeds being used for postage, to send the food items to the Zimbabwe families.
Loose Change
Each month, the Mission Team selects a local or global charity to donate the loose change collected during offering.
We support different outreach opportunities through the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR).

brothers and sisters of mine, you have done it for me.’
